Calgary’s skyline and hospitality scene are set to welcome a major new addition: a brand-new luxury property from Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. The project—currently referred to as Fairmont Calgary—will become the city’s second Fairmont property and a key component of the rapidly evolving Culture and Entertainment District near Stampede Park.

The project is being developed through a partnership between Fairmont (part of the global hospitality group Accor) and Calgary-based developer Truman Development.

The new Fairmont will be located in Calgary’s Greater Downtown near Stampede Park, one of the city’s fastest-growing districts.

The hotel is expected to sit near a city-owned parking lot across Macleod Trail from the Victoria Park–Stampede LRT station, making it highly accessible via public transit. 

This district is undergoing massive redevelopment thanks to the $500 million expansion of the BMO Centre, which opened in 2024 and is now Western Canada’s largest convention facility. 

 

The combination of convention traffic, entertainment venues, and improved public spaces is expected to dramatically increase tourism and business travel to the area.
